Area stakeholders gathered on the 体育菠菜大平台 campus on the afternoon of Tuesday, January 14th to discuss the concerns of staffing for eldercare facilities in central Nebraska. The event was sponsored by the College of Business and Technology.
Tami Moore, a professor of Family Studies at 体育菠菜大平台 and Kearney City Council member, hosted the Elder Care Workforce Forum. She presented information and data to the group of 25-30 employers, leaders, developers and educators. She focused on three key areas; 1) Available pools of talent, 2) Childcare for working parents and 3) Building a workforce pipeline (with the grow-your-own philosophy). Transportation was also discussed, but Moore indicated a forum in the future to explore opportunities and future plans in partnership with the Department of Transportation.
Following the presentation, attendees participated in a strategic planning session led by The Center for Entrepreneurship and Rural Development. To read more on the forum, click below.
